Climate Reality Project, India along with APCCI is working with campuses in Pune to convert them into green campuses. Green Campus Program enables schools and colleges to conserve natural resources like water and biodiversity, optimize energy efficiency, manage waste and provide clean air etc.

The Green Campus program starts with awareness and education climate change and build capacity inside the school by training teachers and enable students to understand the climate change and importance of sustainable development. The second part involves taking action by adopting critical green measures in the campus. These essential practices involve the adaptation and implementation of practices on the following five thrust areas including Air Quality Index, Bio-Diversity, Waste Management, Water Conservation and Energy Efficiency. The next step involves inviting colleges to register for the Green Campus Program. The certification helps in evaluating and recognizing the ideas and practices implemented by the education-al institutes to provide students with a healthy environment and prepare them to build a sustainable future. The Climate Reality-India recognizes the campus as Green and awards them with a certificate and trophy.

The thrust of the Green Summit was to highlight the way ahead with customized focus for every institution along with compliance.

The program was coordinated by ExploreIT, a start-up working towards attaining SDGs and assisting corporates to reach their ESG goals.
