'My Wari, Swacch Wari’ gets Good Response

Various NGOs and around 1200 volunteers from Gram Panchayats participated to collect dry waste  Pune, 27 June 2025: A team of over 1200 volunteers, NGOs and Gram panchayats teamed up to collect 130 tons of dry waste over a period of four days from 20 June to 24 June 2025. The cleanliness drive was a part of ‘ MyWari, Swach Wari ’ movement initiated by ‘ Adar Poonawalla Clean CityInitiative ’(APCCI) to help clean Palkhi route covering a total 140 km of roads from Pune city till Saswad and Yawat. The cleanliness drive is conducted every year where the roads are cleaned within few hours of Palkhi procession by Adar Poonawalla Clean City, Gram panchayats of Loni Kalbhor, Kunjirwadi, Sortapwadi, Uruli Kanchan, Wadki, Saswad, Dive Kalewadi, Zhendewadi, Yavat and volunteers from these villages along with Pune Municipal Corporation who have been a valuable part of the campaign.   This year APCCI installed 65 green nets at various places to enable volunteers to collect and segregate ...

स्वच्छता सैनिक व नागरिकांमध्ये सहयोग आणि सहकार्य असेल तर शहराची स्वच्छता राखण्यास  मदत होते असे मत 'स्वच्छ' च्या सह - संस्थापिका लक्ष्मी नारायण यांनी व्यक्त केले. अदर पुनावाला क्लीन सिटी इनिशिएटिव्ह (एपीसीसीआय) तर्फे नुकतेच क्लीन सिटी टॉक्सच्या तिसऱ्या सत्राचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. यावेळी एपीसीसीआयच्या कार्यालयामध्ये त्यांनी स्वच्छता सैनिकांशी संवाद साधला. याप्रसंगी 'स्वच्छ' च्या सदस्या विद्या नाईकनवरे, एपीसीसीआयचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी कृष्णन कोमांडूर, मुख्य कामकाज अधिकारी मल्हार करवंदे, लीड व्हॅलेंटीअर सत्या नटराजन यांसह एपीसीसीआयचे कर्मचारी व स्वच्छता सैनिक उपस्थित होते. क्लीन सिटी टॉक्स हा एपीसीसीआयचा एक विशेष उपक्रम असून शाश्वतता आणि नेतृत्वाचे विविध पैलू मान्यवरांकडून जाणून घेणे आणि त्याचा उपयोग आपले शहर स्वच्छ व शाश्वत कसे ठेवता येईल हे समजून घेणे आहे.  'स्वच्छ'च्या प्रवासाबाबत माहिती देताना लक्ष्मी नारायण यांनी सांगितले की, सुरुवातीला  'स्वच्छ'ची  १९८९ मध्ये  अधिकृत नोंदणी झाली होती. त्यावेळी या संस्थेला कागद काच पत्र कष्टकरी पं...

Collaboration and co-operation between waste warriors and citizens can help maintain cleanliness in the city

An intriguing interaction between the leadership of ‘SWaCH’ and waste warriors of Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative (APCCI) unravelled many aspects and ideas to help maintain our Pune city clean. Ms. Laxmi Narayan, co-founder of ‘SWaCH’ was at the APCCI office to interact with the audience as a part of ‘Clean City Talks’. The third session was a part of the ongoing series which explores various aspects of sustainability and what it means for a common man to keep our city clean and sustainable. Along with Ms.Vidya Naiknaware, member of SWaCH, Ms. Laxmi Narayan interacted with the waste warriors of APCCI  and took them through the fascinating journey of SWaCH, right from its inception in 1989 to being registered in 1993 when it was called Kagad Kach Patra Kashtakari Panchayat (trade union for hardworking waste pickers) and to the present day decentralized, accountable organisation. माझी वारी स्वच्छ वारी मोहिमेला चांगला प्रतिसाद

१३५० हून अधिक स्वयंसेवक,अनेक स्वयंसेवी संस्था आणि ग्रामपंचायतींच्या सांघिक कार्यामुळे 1 जुलै ते 4 जुलै या चार दिवसांच्या कालावधीत ८६.५ टन सुका कचरा गोळा करण्यात आला. अदर पुनावाला क्लीन सिटी इनिशिएटिव्ह (एपीसीसीआय) तर्फे सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या माझी वारी स्वच्छ वारी या उपक्रमाअंतर्गत पुणे शहर ते सासवड आणि यवत या दोन्ही मार्गांवर सुमारे 125 किमी रस्ता पालखी प्रस्थानानंतर अवघ्या काही तासांतच स्वच्छ करण्यात आला.   यासाठी अदर पुनावाला क्लीन सिटी बरोबरच लोणी काळभोर, कुंजीरवाडी, सोरतापवाडी,उरुळी कांचन, कदमवाक वस्ती, वडकी, सासवड, दिवे काळेवाडी, येवडे येथील ग्रामपंचायत आणि  पुणे महानगरपालिका, पुणे कॅन्टोन्मेंट बोर्ड आणि खडकी कॅन्टोन्मेंट बोर्ड यांच्यासह गावांमधील स्वयंसेवक यांच्या सांघिक कार्यातून पालखी मिरवणुकीच्या मार्गांवर काही तासांतच रस्ते स्वच्छ करण्यात आले. ही स्वच्छता मोहीम दरवर्षी राबविली जाते. यावर्षी स्वयंसेवकांना सहजरित्या कचरा गोळा करून ठेवता यावा यासाठी एपीसीसीआय तर्फे पालखी मार्गावर  ग्रीन नेटस बसविण्यात आले. तसेच 140 हून अधिक कचरा वेचक वाहने आणि मशिन स...

Towards A Cleaner And Greener Future …

Officers and Staff members of  Central GST and Customs office, Pune Zone and officials from Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative (APCCI) came together for a seminar on sustainability . The program was a part of the ‘Swacchata Pakhwada initiative’ started in April 2016 with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata by engaging GOI Ministries/Departments in their jurisdictions. Mr. Krishnan Komandur, CEO APCCI was invited as Chief Guest for the seminar. Mr. Shivkumar Popat Salunkhe, Joint Commissioner, Office of the Commissioner of Audit-I Commissionerate Pune , Atul Gaikwad, Superintendent along with officers and staff members were present on the occasion.
