दरवर्षी जगभरात 22 एप्रिल हा जागतिक वसुंधरा दिवस म्हणून साजरा केला जातो.   2009 मध्ये संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रमाने मंजूर केलेल्या ठरावानुसार हा दिवस इंटरनॅशनल मदर्स डे म्हणून घोषित करण्यात आला आहे.यावर्षीची संकल्पना अवर पॉवर,अवर प्लॅनेट असून अक्षय्य उर्जा कडे वाटचालीला अधिक बळ देणे आणि पर्यावरण संरक्षणासाठी सर्वांचा व सामूहिक सहभाग याबाबत जागरूकतेवर भर देते. पृथ्वी हे आपले एकमेव घर आहे,पण याच आपल्या पृथ्वीला अनेक पर्यावरणीय आव्हानांना सामोरे जावे लागत आहे.त्यातलीच एक महत्त्वाची समस्या म्हणजे कचरा व्यवस्थापन. जशी प्रगती होत आहे,तसाच वस्तूंचा वापर देखील वाढत आहे आणि परिणामी कचरा देखील वाढत आहे.याचे योग्य व्यवस्थापन न झाल्यास उघड्यावर साचणाऱ्या कचऱ्याची समस्या अधिक तीव्र होते, प्रदूषण वाढते. याचीच अनुभूती आपल्याला रोज येत आहे.प्रक्रियेअभावी कचऱ्यामुळे माती,पाणी आणि हवा हे तीनही आपल्या आयुष्यातील महत्त्वाचे घटक प्रदूषित होत आहेत.याचा थेट परिणाम सभोवतालची परिसंस्था आणि मानवी आरोग्यावर होत आहे.या सर्वाचा परिणाम जैवविविधतेवर आणि हवामानावर होत आहे. या सर्व समस्यांचा डोंगर असला तरी ...

Completing a decade of dedicated service,  The Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative( APCCI)  has  evolved into a technology-driven public–private partnership that has redefined how cities can collaborate, innovate, and engage citizens to create cleaner, healthier urban spaces.  Among its many unique initiatives and modern machines, the “Glutton”—a compact, electric vacuum litter picker— has emerged as a prominent symbol of modern waste management and is now a familiar sight on the streets of Pune, sparking curiosity among residents.     Designed to efficiently collect small waste such as wrappers and  roadside dry litter ,  the Glutton machine enables quick and effective cleaning of footpaths and public spaces. A strong induction program plays a vital role in shaping young minds by helping students understand real-world challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities beyond the classroom. It is during these early interactions that students begin to connect academic learning with social responsibility and civic awareness.       As part of this vision, Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative (APCCI) recently participated in the student induction program at Keystone School of Engineering on Wednesday, 25 March 2026.
